Emerge

Trying to think; can’t get out,
Need a voice to scream and shout,
Be a person just like you,
I’m gonna be there in a moment or two!
Lots of experience on which to be fed,
From the clutter inside your head

The Last Letter

The last letter seemed so ancient, yellow,
Scrawly script from talented fellow,
The finder wondered what it said,
Such words he had never been fed,
He wrote in bytes nowadays,
The last letter from another phase,
But at least he always got a reply,
Better than the last letter, denied

Beginning

We need a beginning and then an end,
No, said the mystic, why do you offend?
The natural cycles go round and round,
Stopping and starting can only confound,
Get into the flow you western clown,
No end no beginning’s where peace is found

Eighth Dawn

Dawn approaching, land to till?
Soon they’ll do it – it’s called free will,
Love and jealousy not quite there,
Hatred brewing under the stare,
Desire bathes them where they lay,
On this dawn of the Eighth Day

Science Mind

I’ve got data to test it out,
My theory’s right! – no doubt;
Microscope and telescope prove it so,
I’m a scientist all aglow,
Peer review? What do they know?
Sometimes they can be so slow …

What do you mean I was hypnotised,
to form an idea in my mind to rise?
Reality is real, not a mind game,
Your objections are rather lame!
I know I’m right, despite your stares,
The universe is made of …

Breakthrough

Smash the wall, talk it out,
Found a treasure, no more doubt,
Fight a war, sue for peace,
Hopes for all conflict to cease,
Breakthroughs, though, can often vex,
Sorting a problem leads to the next

Icarus

The sun appeared in front of me,
Melting wings my destiny,
We’d progressed so much, reached so high,
Yet it all ends in weapons filling the sky,
And now I vapourise in nuclear heat,
Icarus warned us of the end we’d meet

The Photograph

The telescope took it, cosmic past,
Showing eons ago, just after the blast,
Suns exploding, releasing life,
Initial stardust of my wife,
Showing destined thread from then to now,
As star and life we’re one, let’s bow

Running

Engine running, getting us there,
Camera running – at Telly we stare,
Project running, keeping us primed,
Clocks are running, taking our time,
Everyone running from Bob to Tom,
What is it we’re all running from?

Dropped

They dropped him from the faculty,
Wouldn’t listen to his plea,
No matter how illogical the act,
He was out – that’s a fact;
‘Twas his fault, having an original thought,
Should have kept quiet – he knew he ought,
The future’s intolerant, he knew that,
So they dropped him – from the roof –
Splat!
