Fissures

Stormy relationship; see the cracks,
If only we could turn our backs,
A brief respite to cement our love,
What’s that in the sky? A dove?
I yearn for peace – let them flock,
You’re angry, nature – I’m just a rock

Descent

Living in caves, technology low,
So much we want to know;
Living in cities, technology high,
So much we want to deny;
Living in heat, technology melts,
So much we could have felt;
Living in caves, technology gone,
So much we love Earth’s song

Treasure

Diamonds, gold, precious stones,
Compacted elements, wealthy zone;
Such things are treasured more than life,
Sometimes more than kids and wife,
Yet why are treasures always rare?
Can anything beat a breath of air?

Fisherman

Plastic bags and oily sludge,
Killed all the fish in the sea, as such,
But there was a myth that there was one,
Still in tune with Earth’s natural song,
He sat in the boat for ever more,
Rod of tears, sunken jaw

Big Is Bad

Small is beautiful, the mantra of green,
Forget the big, all you’ve seen,
Of corporate worlds and their buzz,
Leaving us with eco-fuzz,
Obliterating planet and our soul,
Big is Bad!!!
Please be told

Bamboozled

Do they get it, this eco-thing?
Do politicians want to sing?
Do they know the danger here?
Or do they offer crocodile tear?
I’m bamboozled by what I’ve seen,
Feeling eco?
Or sickly green

Mother Earth

All around, above, below,
From the soil to sky aglow,
Mother Earth takes care of all,
But so often we’re not enthralled;
We forgot when we thought we could lord,
That to her we have an umbilical cord;
We break this link at our peril,
When we become the eco-Devil

Poet Tree

Rising up from the ground,
Branching out, nature’s sound,
Life thrives wherever they stand,
Vibrancy – oh, so grand,
Diversity’s mainstay is the tree,
Nature’s eternal poetry
