Mini Mag 101

Polly Ticks says … So, the UK govt wants to sell off our roads and motorways for private running. Alongside the Bill to Privatise the Health Service by the Back Door, I’m wondering when the govt itself will be privatised. Oh – damn! – it’s already run by Big Biz.

Guru Tony says … This year’s Brit Budget was unashamedly business friendly, with low paid workers given extra spending power with a rise in tax allowance. But how to pay for it? Easy. Freeze the allowance of 5 million pensioners. What do they spend anyway? It leaves a bad taste in the throat.

GREEN SCENE

The one is as the whole, nature knew.
Man did not. So as man anthropomorphised
nature, nature aped tempestuous man -
’til he was no more.
***
In wealth we were green
In downturn, selfishness rules
Transition of fools

ESSAY: KINETIC NATURE - Could the planet have a self defence mechanism? Warming causes a more violent climate. This involves changes in electromagnetism. It is known that electromagnetic bombardment of the brain can cause hallucinations and mystical experiences. Spirituality seems to be on the increase, with accompanying eco-awareness. So is the planet fighting back by affecting our minds? Slow Rapture.

Everyone is green
Nature thrives – safe for all time

TRANSITION: The Alchemist searched long
for perfection and immortality. He knew
the means of his success could be found
everywhere, but where? Why couldn’t he
see? He sat and meditated by a tree for
so long he died of old age. The ground
took him; the roots consumed. He lives
now with the eternal sages; in the
wisdom of the great oaks.
***
So eager to buy
Yet … eager to save planet
But … eager to buy

ACCIDENTAL: He sat in the space station; looked down on Earth – its acid rain, hurricanes swirling the dense smog. It WAS an accident, the last man convinced himself.

Blogger Bard says:
Mother says we’re wrong
Severed nature’s nourishing
umbilical cord

SECRET: He was a new species. Oh, that secretive foodchain! And when the non-biodegradable waste got into it and into us … Part human, part plastic bag.

my Mini Mag in 13 lines.

BRICKS: Between the dark and the daylight the fellow walks the brick road with brick walls all around, longing for green to sprout, sun to shine, jailed.

We are all like Poe
Bricked into our mapped out lives
A premature death

FUN: Children’s hour comes. They burst out of themselves and frolic, play, laugh. Leave restraint and run thru fields. Then back to adulthood, sated.

Mini Mag Five – Green Scene

My Green Poems
Carnival goes on
Party all the time is good?
No wonder we’re bored

PASS ON BY: Oh, the courage needed to pass on by; end up raw, unwrapped. But she did it – walked straight past the hypermarket to the proper shops.

Stand up to the fight
Hit them fully with the jaw
Words always better

CARNIVAL: Meat had become a rare resource since its banning. As the vegetarians gathered the carnivores looked forward to their feast.
