RATTLERS’ TALE
My Writing Tips

HUNT: They wanted the double agent
& put me on the job. Easy to track down,
I prepared to hand him over. As they
met me, they died. I was secure.
***
Treason, so easy
When system above people
Governments betray
***
KIDNAP: Kidnap is bad but we took her
– left the news at the drop to draw out
the spy – her lover. He came &, her
cover a success, she shot him.

DEAD: I’d died. An error to uncover the
media baron’s power. He’d put his men on
me; had already prepared tomorrow’s
paper. Showed me my obituary.

MICROPEDIE IN 55 WORDS
Year – was celebration of Christ’s life; now, progression of mandatory consumer sprees. Form of indoctrination.
Yin & Yang – universal male (active) & female (passive) forces seeking balance & harmony. In West, changed to good & evil, destroying balance & guaranteeing an enemy.
Yo-Yo – tightly wound toy to be manipulated up & down – to do tricks. Metaphor for control of us.

Blogger Bard says:

STALKED: They followed him always. He
told Control but no ops were seen. They
were good. Finally he killed himself,
& his victims followed him still.
***
APING: The tree top. An oasis of calm
for the ape. The Planet of the Apes remake
needed realism. He hated method acting
& Taylor was so hard to do.
***
FREEDOM: ‘The road to freedom is long
and makes you dizzy,’ said the last to try
it, as he came up behind the next.

My Environment page

Major de Ranger says … Taliban are going to talk. We had to say yes. No superpower can beat a well entrenched fighting force in its own terrain.

READ WITH MUMMY
My Writing Tips

JINX: The jinx badly affected the
movie. Horror does that. But as accidents
happened & actors bandaged, a rewrite to
Curse of the Mummies worked.
***
They didn’t want him
Showed only hatred, torment
When ghostbuster died
***
FRIEND: The Goblin disturbed –
terrified! – the woman’s new man in their
bed. Her young son awaited his return.
Imaginary friends had their uses.

SPIRIT: The spirit possessed him again.
Nights were bad, yet by morn he was
sober. But as the dead man said ‘hello’
again, spirit flowed once more.

MICROPEDIE IN 55 WORDS
X-Files – fictional expression of unexplained. Happens a lot. Question is: what is happening? Should be studied.
Xenophobia – lack of knowing leading to fear; & we hate what we fear. Man at his worse when mixed with politics.
X – unknown person; or a kiss; & wrong. Also multiplication. If you see this man, tell police. He’s a sex pest.

Harry Fang says:

MONSTER: When Frankenstein’s monster
was re-energised in modern times, he no
longer felt a freak. He was proud of
being a cosmetic surgery prototype.
***
NUMB: She’d been servile so long.
Pampering, not pampered. Now the maid was
numb, ghostly as she worked, testament to
the arrogance of wealth.
***
DREAMS: Ghostly images flashed as he
stood there; of space, war, horror, Romans.
A strange love for our dreams, which come
to naught, or create our odyssey.

Snooping Crimes

Polly Ticks says … If NSA or GCHQ are checking me, it’s simple. I’ve served, & am totally patriotic to, my country. Can any govt say the same?
My Politics page

Major de Ranger says … Drones may be illegal? Contravene international law? No such thing – just convention. To speak of illegality is red herring.
My Warfare page

Dr Illya Ness says … Pregnant moms no toiletries or processed food? To ease anxiety I recommend no more stupid advice from clueless ‘experts’.

THE CRIME POST
My Writing Tips

UNBEATEN: As the murder took place
he couldn’t help but see the funny side.
After all, as his life ebbed away he
wanted to meet the next with a smile.
***
To live on the edge
An exciting way to be?
To repeat the Fall
***
THE BLADE: Time to be leaner; cut away
the surplus. She thought it gave her
confidence as she hid behind her mask,
and the doctor forgot Hippocrates.

The Devil did it
They say evil directs us
Cop-out of the knave

MICROPEDIE IN 55 WORDS
War – conflict where people are made to kill to live. Caused by less than 1% of a population – and experienced by the rest.
Wage – monetary reward for work. As task decreases in usefulness, the amount of wage increases.
Wall – artificial barrier, usually of brick, but also fear. We construct to hide what we don’t want people to know.

Blogger Bard says:

WRINKLE: The hair follicles on the brow
panicked with the first wrinkle. ‘That’s
it. Facequakes all the time now; & we’re
already wiped out on top.’
***
ULTIMATUM: Near death, he never
thought of the tunnel as an escalator to a
departure lounge. Tech gets everywhere;
& the ultimatum: reboot or log out.
***
FLOATY: The diet worked so well she
was as light as air as she floated above
her man. But she needed to cut down on
roughage to stay down to earth.

FUTURE ZONE
My Writing Tips

The universe sings
As matter waltzes and jives
The dance of the stars
***
BLAST-OFF: The stardrive had become
so powerful there was no return. Blast
off incinerated all behind it. Thus,
the last starship left planet Earth.
***
Man ruled by Ego
Certainty of rightness rules
Evolution’s drive

ROBO-BOSS: The trouble began when
androids were allowed to be Big Biz CEOs.

MICROPEDIE IN 55 WORDS

Blogger Bard says:

DASH: I know this is balder- Anyway,
must – or my hopes of writing properly
will be -ed … Going for punctuation
lessons you see so must –
***
HUB: At the hub of the universe the
flower wore sunglasses. Which made no
sense. Flowers had no eyes. Picasso,
the gatekeeper, said: ‘Exactly.’
***
GONE: He was locked out of the picture.
When it was painted he was sure he was
there. But art’s a living thing. And
she, the artist, had moved on.

My Warfare page

Polly Ticks says … 500,000 people in UK now rely on food banks due to cuts. We were on the way to eliminating poverty, so no excuse. This govt is uncivilised.

RATTLERS’ TALE
My Writing Tips

He was not to blame
Devils, DNA, others
Always excuses
***
BAD: He saw things darker now.
Light just an illusion in perpetual
night. Bad never happens under the
Sun, when he glows.
***
As the lights go dim
He doesn’t see his purpose
Why is he so dim?

AWARD: He’d never worn a badge
before. Not the bloodied one of
courage, nor an award for duty.
But the smile of his first kiss.

MICROPEDIE IN 55 WORDS

MYTH: ‘Angry gods, wise gods, loving
gods – just myths with no substance.’
She was angry as he said it, for she
loved him. He was not wise today.
***
RITUAL: The cat watched the fish and
vice versa. It was a ritual; and they
all knew what would happen if they met.
‘Please do,’ thought the piranha.
***
CIRCLES: Reality goes in circles, he
was told. So he walked a straight line
to prove it wrong; right round the
planet and ended where he started.
