Oily Nightmares

Posted by Anthony North on February 8, 2013

Guru Tony says … Loner found dead in flat 2 yrs after he died. I can think of no sadder indictment of what UK is becoming. We must get back our caring side.
My Morality page

Polly Ticks says … Brit Chancellor appears to be bending over backwards to help oil companies. Now, why isn’t that a surprise? It’s all about oil, isn’t it?

PAST HELL: ‘Hell is other people,
they say. So why do I feel I’m there?’
His previous incarnations rose up
to say ‘Boo!’
***
‘Twas a restless night
Nightmares clung to his bruised soul
To write of bad dreams

DRAB: Life is drab, he thought -
living nightmare. He had to reverse
it … Looked in mirror; realised
himself. Wrote: Bard.

Anthony, that truly is the saddest thing I’ve heard in a while (and there have been a lot of sad things in the news) about the person being dead and undiscovered for two years. He must have been petrified by that time…and to think, sadly, that no one missed him…

Bruised soul – deep and vivid. How is that healed?

Ah! I’d never seen the relationship between drab and bard before! This is great. I can use something like this in a book I wrote a few months ago.

Nice work with the short form–each is precise and hits home.

    Hi Brian, that’s certainly true.

Hi G-Man, many thanks for the kind words.

Hi Talon, yes, this is a tragedy that shouldn’t have happened.

Hadn’t heard about Simon Allen – sad indeed.

Society has changed and it is true that I know little of most of my neighbours as they keep themselves to themselves.

Friendly neighbours appear to be a thing of the past…

Hi Other Mary, thanks for that. Much appreciated.

Hi Anna, yes, it’s certainly getting that way. We’re brought up in a society infatuated with individuality – community suffers.

Hello Anthony. I can think of nothing more lonely to not have anyone notice you are missing for even a couple of days, let “alone” two years… Mummy is smokin this week! Love the boo poem, the haiku is haunting, and the drab piece is brilliant! Thank you! Hope you will dance with me this coming Thursday, across the pond! :-)
