NEO-FEUDALISM
A MicroEssay on the errors of modern Capitalism

Ch 1. You might think you live in a capitalist world. I don’t. It’s a con & you’re a sucker. We live with Neo-Feudalism. Here’s my proof.

Ch 2. Big Biz survives by having big systems, which need big backing, such as payments for your house! Mortgage serfs – like a plot of land.

Ch 3. Feminism is good, but why was it allowed? It’s good for Big Biz. 2 wages per house = more investment. Give you a little, take a lot.

Ch 4. You need to buy what you don’t want for Big Biz to work. Like religious observances, you’re suckered into fad addiction; & it is good.

Ch 5. Indoctrination is good. Used to be a daily dose of Bible. Now there’s Soaps & other media, subtly changing lifestyle to Big Biz needs.

Ch 6. Saints were symbols of how to live. Celebs do the same – offer perfection. Which is impossible. So you’re a sinner, sated by buying.

Ch 7. Pilgrimage to Holy places used to prove your faith. It imposed the knowing that the system was all. Welcome to the shopping Mall.

Ch 8. Confession used to be good for the soul. Hence, victimhood & confessional lit is imposed. Victims need self-help. Shopping therapy.

Ch 9. You & family mustn’t think for yourself. So professionals provide service, & then decree how you live. Just like the monks of old.

Ch 10. Political correctness & media destroy family & impose sameness. Meaning is taken away, leaving you a cog in the Big Biz machine.

Ch 11. Cathedrals – the tallest buildings around – showed the total magnificence of the system. The tallest buildings now? Trade centres.

Ch 12. There must be a God-form – ethereal, omnipotent & offering salvation – that can bewitch you & tie you to the system for life. Credit.

Ch 13. There must be a Creed; a phrase that makes you want to be part of it all. ‘Pursuit of happiness’ – aptly named as you never catch it.

Ch 14. The end result? When we’re all middle class, we’ll all belong to the lowest class & subserviant to the tycoons. Like barons & serfs.

Totally agree. Capitalism has not failed, as some would have it – it’s right up there with communism and Christianity: it’s never been tried.

Hi David, so very true. I’m trying to remember who said that about Christianity. Chesterton, I think.
