THE CRIME POST

ABSENT: Empty alley. Windows staring,
invitingly. The intruder entered, stole.
Next morning the child smiled, tooth
absent, replaced by surprise.
***
He took the credit
Cleaned out loads of fat accounts
He pleaded guilty
***
PLACATE: They stood at the cliff edge.
2 of them, where once there’d been one
– after he’d pushed him off. To placate
the ghost, soon there were none.
***
It was always free
Food, drink, a bed every night
Sadly he was not
***
LUNCH: Hid under the window, the
detective evaded the cannibals’ luncheon,
but had a sense of failure. The murder
suspect had been the main course.

The Green Writer

I’m the greenest writer there can ever be,
Every page from a sustainable tree,
I cover global warming and pollution, too,
All eco-issues to educate you,
Offering a world to which you’re entitled,
But you could have read it before you recycled

READ WITH MUMMY

HALCYON: The kingfisher nestled close
by, calming the wind. All was peace and
tranquility, my existence golden. And
I thought: so this is death.
***
New chapter scares me
Horror on every new page
Writing can be hell
***
DELUGE: After the deluge the sea birds
took over. The primary species, they
stood on the beach and one said to his
friend: ‘Pass the sun cream.’
***
Hummingbird hovers
Small, beautiful … we’re unaware
Hitchcock would be proud
***
FLIGHT: She was stuck in the vortex –
whirlwind of the mind; images of torment.
In hell. She took flight, up to the sky,
yet no higher than heaven.

CONSTANT: It was constant. The killer
stalked; the ghost haunted; my mind

To turn laptop off – to breathe …
Boring! Turn back on
***

in man, ploughing our furrow. In one,
a seed grew; a thought flowered; a
book written. The cycle of Interman.

Violated man

In extinction mode

While the planet wept
