Reading Rut
Blogger Bard says …
Do I ever get in a rut witrh my reading – want to explore different genres? No, not really. I tend to read a wide variety of genres and subjects anyway. If there is a rut it is that blogging/social netowrking runs into my reading time. Tech can often be a pain.

I know what you mean. I seem to spend more time reading blogs about reading than with my books these days.

Hi Karen, yes, it’s a big problem finding the right balance.

Haha well said. I agree that the reading is not the rut but the blogging. Good luck getting out of the hole!
Anthony North said on May 26, 2011
Hi Pam, thanks for that. The problem is, I don’t really want to get out of the hole – I love blogging as much as book reading. What I need is a 36 hour day.

I hear you. Sometimes I find myself networking or blogging so much that I don’t have time to read!

It is so easy for social media to get in my way of reading. I must turn the computer off!
Here is my BTT.
Anthony North said on May 26, 2011
Hi Lisa, we maybe don’t do that often enough.

I read a wide variety of genres, as well. So many books, so little time!
Anthony North said on May 26, 2011
Hi Mama Zen, yes, time is a very restricting concept.

Hi Allison, yes, that often happens to me, too.
Hi Mary, indeed.
Sally said on May 26, 2011
I’ve noticed lately that blogging is really cutting into my reading time – not good.
Sally.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I used to read a book a day until I got my website. Now it seems I’m spending so much more time blogging about books instead of reading them.
Anthony North said on May 26, 2011
Hi Sally, it is a common problem.
Hi Gina, yes, it’s hard to find a balance.

Before I started blogging I read an average of 120 books a year. After – 50. This year? Closer to 20.
Anthony North said on May 27, 2011
Hi Alice, yes, this is how it goes.
